Talkhouse Weekend Playlist: On the Road with Petal

Kiley Lotz shares what she'll be listening to on tour this winter.

This week's playlist comes courtesy of Kiley Lotz, aka Petal. To kickoff her headlining tour through the US (including Tomorrow Never Knows Fest), Europe, and Japan, Kiley put together a playlist of songs she'll be listening to on the road. Plug in the aux and listen while you drive to the Petal show near you!

Slow Dancer — “Don’t Believe”
I toured with Simon a while back and he is so good at what he does. This song is sexy and reminds me of Van Morrison and Bill Withers!

Aretha Franklin — “You Send Me"
I’ve been listening to a lot of soul music recently and Aretha’s version of this song gets me moving.

Sharon Van Etten — “Seventeen”
This song and her voice just stun me. I can’t wait for this record to come out.

Christine and the Queens — “Girlfriend”
Chris put out one of my favorite records of 2018. It has so much movement and is a really beautiful celebration of androgyny and questioning.

Sufjan Stevens — “Pittsfield”
I like to listen to Sufjan in the early morning on an overnight drive. One of my favorite songwriters, and this song will forever be special to me.

The Blue Nile — “Downtown Lights”
Hats is such an amazing record. I heard this song for the first time on tour in Leeds over the house speakers and I ran up to the board to ask what it was. It’s beautiful.

Frank Ocean — “Self Control”
I cannot wait for new Frank Ocean. In the meantime, this whole record and this song in particular are sublime.

Lizzo — “Juice”
LIZZO IS THE QUEEN. End of story.
