Over/Under is the first film under her production company, Synchronicities, which she founded in 2021.

Life Won’t Look Anything Like You Thought It Would

Alison Star Locke earned a B.F.A. in Filmic Writing from USC, where she won the Jack Nicholson Screenwriting Award. She began her career as a reality TV Story Producer and writing, directing and producing numerous shorts. After staying home to advocate and care for her daughter, who has autism, she returned to work to write and direct The Apology, her first feature, a psychological thriller starring Anna Gunn, Linus Roache and Janeane Garofalo and is available on Shudder, AMC+, Blu-Ray and VOD. Her comedy horror short, Pick Up Time, was laureled up at fests, including Nightmares, Renegade, etc. She recently produced the zombie horror/relationship drama short, Until the End. She lives with her husband and daughter in the LA area. Her work focuses mainly on motherhood, gender disparity, disability and having fun getting your rage out. Zia Anger is a filmmaker and music video director. Her debut feature, <a href="https://mubi.com/en/us/films/my-first-film" target="_blank" rel="noopener">My First Film</a>, is streaming globally on MUBI from September 6. In 2018 she began touring a new solo performance that traces the last ten years of her lost and abandoned work, titled My First Film. The performance was named by The New Yorker as one of the “Sixty-two Films That Shaped the Art of Documentary Filmmaking.” Her most recent short, My Last Film, premiered at the 53rd New York Film Festival. She has made music videos for various independent artists, including Angel Olsen, Mitski, Julianna Barwick, Maggie Rogers, and Jenny Hval; the latter of whom she also tours with as a performer. In 2016, Zia participated in the Sundance Institute&#8217;s Screenwriter&#8217;s Intensive, and in 2015 she was included in Filmmaker magazine&#8217;s &#8220;25 New Faces of Independent Film.&#8221; Find out more at her <a href="http://www.ziaanger.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">official site</a>. Deap Vally’s Lindsey Troy is Keeping the Dream Alive

Sareen Hairabedian is a documentary film director based between New York, Armenia and Jordan who uses observational intimate cinematic approach to tell stories about people and places that often go unnoticed and unheard of. Her debut feature, <a href="https://www.mysweetlandfilm.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">My Sweet Land</a>, a coming-of-age story set against a multigenerational war in the post-Soviet Caucasus Mountains, had its world premiere at the Sheffield DocFest in June 2024 and is now playing on the festival circuit. She is the founder of <a href="http://hai-creative.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HAI Creative</a>, a production company that collaborates with artists and humanitarian organizations across continents, capturing the untold stories of underrepresented communities. Hairabedian’s directorial debut, We Are Not Done Yet, a 40-minute HBO documentary about U.S. veterans grappling with PTSD who use art and poetry to heal, was nominated for Best Documentary Short at the International Documentary Association 2018 Awards.

Bobbi Jo Hart is an award-winning American-Canadian documentary filmmaker whose latest feature, <a href="https://www.fannythemovie.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fanny: The Right to Rock</a>, airs on PBS on May 22. With a career that has spanned 25 years, Hart has filmed in countries as diverse as Pakistan, Russia, Guatemala, Australia, Scotland and Zimbabwe — with subjects ranging from women’s professional soccer and tennis to classical music, comedy, dance and manic depression. Her documentary films have the most common thread of revealing untold stories of marginalized girls and women, weaving universal threads of dreams, family, love, loss, happiness, sadness, success, failure and determination. No Fear: The Serendipitous Symbiosis of Filmmaking and Motherhood

Toronto&#8217;s Bernice have always been subject to their own distinct rhythms. Releasing their first album in 2011 then waiting seven years for the release of their sophomore LP, and another four until the release of their 2021 album Eau De Bonjourno, each release from the Robin Dann-led band feels like a missive from another world, and one that arrives precisely when it was supposed to, independent of any external pressures or expectations. Despite their periodic disappearances, Bernice&#8217;s albums have reliably provoked waves of startled excitement from both the press and their fellow musicians, with high praise coming from outlets like Pitchfork, NPR, Stereogum and the New York Times, and legendary artists like Beverly Glenn-Copeland, who described himself as &#8220;a down on my knees fan&#8221; of the band, saying &#8220;the vision is extraordinary and it&#8217;s musically so exciting.&#8221;

Born in Rome in 1975, Susanna Nicchiarelli began her film career working with Nanni Moretti, directing one of the documentaries that were part of the series Diari della Sacher. She has written and directed many short films and documentaries, plus two feature-length films: Cosmonaut (2009), winner of the Controcampo award at the Venice Film Festival and nominated as Best First Film at the David di Donatello and Silver Ribbon awards, and Discovery at Dawn (2013), presented at the Rome Film Festival. Nicchiarelli’s third feature film, <a href="https://www.nico1988.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nico, 1988</a>, is now in select theaters through Magnolia Pictures.

Her other writing credits include the Golden Globe Award-winning and Emmy® Award-nominated series Without a Trace, as well as Crash, One Tree Hill, October Road, Standoff, Greek and The Lying Game. A cum laude graduate of Princeton University, she resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two sons.
