Irene Sofia Lucio is a Puerto Rican actress who is starring as Isidora in this season’s most acclaimed Broadway play, <a href="https://liberationbway.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Liberation</a>, which closes on February 1. Irene created the role of Patricia in Jeremy O’Harris’ award-winning Slave Play, a role she carried from workshops through its runs Off-Broadway, on Broadway, on the West End, and in Los Angeles. Irene co-wrote, performed, and co-produced the webseries B.U.T.S. (Bi-lingual, Underrepresented, Titless Sallies), which won Outstanding Comedy at the NBCU Short Film Festival, and also wrote the animated series Super Ellas, about Latina trailblazers, winning the Gracia and Silver Telly Award for Best Animated Series. She has several screenplays in development with CBS and Dentsu Storylab. With degrees in Comparative Literature and Theatre from Princeton University and an MFA in Acting from the Yale School of Drama, Irene is a proud native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, who currently resides in New York City.

To Protest or Not to Protest

Daisy Friedman is a writer and director based out of New York City. Her history as a multi-organ transplant recipient has drawn her to create work that centers on the intersections of tradition, intimacy, embodiment, and disability. Her latest short film, Unholy, had its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and went on to screen at SXSW. Her previous short film, As You Are (2023), has screened at prestigious film festivals such as Frameline, Inside Out, Outfest, the Chicago International Film Festival and the National Film Festival For Talented Youth. The film has received numerous awards, including the U.S. Narrative Short Grand Jury Prize Special Mention at Outfest 2023 and the NewFest35 Emerging Filmmaker Award. She received the 2023 Colin Higgins Foundation Youth Filmmaker Grant and is currently a winter/spring 2025 Guest Resident at the Woodward Residency. Daisy received a 2020 National Scholastic Gold Medal and American Voices Award for her poetry. She is a graduate of Barnard College’s Film Studies program.

Collapsing Scenery is the meeting of two fertile and febrile minds, Don De Vore (Ink &amp; Dagger, Lilys, The Icarus Line, Amazing Baby) and Reggie Debris. Together they straddle the gap between music, art, film, and politics, seamlessly moving between each with the same ease at which they traverse the globe, soaking up experiences and immersing themselves in different cultures.
Since they formed in 2013 “under a pall of paranoia and disgust” they haven’t stopped moving. They&#8217;ve recently collaborated with Jamaican dancehall legend Ninjaman, Beastie Boys producer/collaborator Money Mark, and no-wave pioneer James Chance. The band also has remixes out or on the way from Genesis P-Orridge (Psychic TV, Throbbing Gristle), Jennifer Herrema (Royal Trux), Uniform, Youth Code, Brian DeGraw (Gang Gang Dance), Oliver, and more.
Their forthcoming debut album Stress Positions is a glorious collision of futurist electro, glacial goth tones, techno, post-punk and chillwave recorded using analogue electronics: samplers, step sequencers, synths and drum machines.
