Shehzaad Jiwani is a musician, producer, writer and director from Toronto. He fronts the band Greys and performs solo under the name Golden Drag. As a producer, Shehzaad has worked with bands like The Dirty Nil, Casper Skulls, and Patio. His writing has appeared in Brooklyn Vegan, Hazlitt, Metro Toronto and others. He is currently filming his first documentary.

What A Boost is Serious Music

Blissfulness is at the core of Wiseacre, the strikingly purifying sophomore record from Eric Slick. Wiseacre is a location, literally. It’s the place he married the light in his life, Natalie Prass, and titling the record after it is an attempt at bottling the euphoria of his wedding day. The record isn’t just about the joy that comes from a loving existence blossoming out of a new relationship, it’s also about the hard work that it takes to get to that place. The majority of his time has been behind a drum set, spending the last decade rounding out the industrious outfit Dr. Dog, and as of late, touring as a newlywed alongside his wife.

Chippy Nonstop got her name for a reason. She is an audacious, undeniable party starter with a penchant for travelling the world and always bringing her unique energy. As a sound selector she makes the dance floor shake, but there’s much more to the story. Chippy is a DJ, rapper, songwriter, writer, producer, actor and organizer of community events. She is of Indian descent, but is more of a cultural nomad. She was born in Dubai, grew up in Zambia, has citizenship in Canada, has lived in Oakland, and New York, and currently resides in Toronto after a very public deportation. Chippy Nonstop is currently working on new music-related endeavors including a project called 
&#8220;<a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/dj-workshop-brings-inclusivity-turntables-n715341">Intersessions</a>,&#8221; a sound initiative curated by and for women &amp; the LGBTQ+ community. She is also DJing, recording, and has recently released two tracks: &#8220;<a href="https://thump.vice.com/en_ca/article/qk5d3b/chippy-nonstop-waspy-beats-bubble-up-listen">Bubble Up</a>&#8221; and &#8220;<a href="http://www.thefader.com/2016/06/02/nightwave-chippy-nonstop-lotto">Lotto</a>.&#8221;

Andrew Falkous Soils Himself with Netflix’s The Dirt

Alt-rock godfather and Chainsaw Kittens frontman, Tyson Meade, is back yet again with another fabulous new album, Robbing the Nuclear Family. Like his critically-acclaimed 2014 solo release Tomorrow in Progress, which included fantastic contributions from Smashing Pumpkins’ Jimmy Chamberlin, Other Lives’ Jesse Tabish, and The Flaming Lips’ Derek Brown, Robbing features contributions from elder statesmen of the Beijing rock scene PK 14, Shanghai violinist Haffijy, The Flaming Lips’ Matt Duckworth, and Grammy-award winning drummer Rob Martin. Robbing also has the heavy imprint of multi-instrumentalist David “Immy” Immerglück of alternative rock greats Counting Crows, Camper Van Beethoven, and the Monks of Doom.
Through the years, Meade has toured with Iggy Pop, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane’s Addiction, the Meat Puppets, and many others. Butch Vig and John Agnello have produced his albums, and Spike Jonze, George Salisbury, and Phil Harder have directed his videos.
