Aisha Tyler is an actress, broadcaster, writer and filmmaker. She is known for her roles in the TV series Friends, Ghost Whisperer, Criminal Minds and Archer, and is also currently the co-host of CBS&#8217; The Talk and the host of Whose Line Is It Anyway? and the podcast Girl on Guy. She recorded the comedy special Aisha Tyler is Lit: Live at the Fillmore in 2009, and is the author of two books, including Self-Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Humiliation. Her directorial debut feature, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/Axisthefilm/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Axis</a>, is available on VOD from April 10.

Best of 2019: Aisha Tyler on Julius Onah’s Luce

Trey Edward Shults is the writer, director and co-star of the 2015 award-winning film Krisha. The film premiered at SXSW where it received the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award, and had its international premiere at the Cannes Film Festival where it played in Semaine de la Critique. A24 acquired worldwide rights to Krisha, and also released Trey&#8217;s follow-up, the 2017 horror thriller It Comes at Night, starring Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, Carmen Ejogo, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Riley Keough. His latest film, the family drama <a href="https://a24films.com/films/waves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Waves</a>, starring Kelvin Harrison Jr., Lucas Hedges, Taylor Russell and Sterling K. Brown, is now in theaters, also through A24.

Catherine Hardwicke is best known as the director of Twilight, which launched the worldwide blockbuster franchise, The Twilight Saga. She also directed Miss You Already, Red Riding Hood, Lords of Dogtown, Miss Bala, and the critically acclaimed Thirteen, which won numerous international awards. Hardwicke has also ventured into television, directing episodes of This is Us, Hell on Wheels, Low Winter Sun and the pilots of Reckless and EyeWitness, and her latest show, Don&#8217;t Look Deeper, a new series for Quibi, is forthcoming later this year. Best of 2019: Catherine Hardwicke Talks Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite

Peter Strickland started making short films on Super 8 and 16 mm in the early &#8217;90s. After directing his adaptation of Kafka&#8217;s Metamorphosis for Reading&#8217;s Progress Theatre in 1992, he went on to direct a short film called Bubblegum (starring Warhol superstar Holly Woodlawn). After a long hiatus, making culinary soundscapes with The Sonic Catering Band, he returned to film in the early part of this century. His first feature film, Katalin Varga (starring Hilda Péter) was funded from an inheritance and shot and edited on a budget of £25,000. The Transylvanian tragedy led to funding from the British film industry. He made the Milano-Dorking sonic anguish of Berberian Sound Studio (starring Toby Jones) followed in 2012, followed by the dominant/submissive romance The Duke of Burgundy (starring Sidse Babett Knudsen). In the past few years, he has made several radio plays and a concert film for Björk, co-directed with Nick Fenton, and his fourth feature, the Thames Valley January Sales nightmare In Fabric (starring Marianne Jean-Baptiste). Best of 2019: FKA Twigs’s “Cellophane” Did It for Lillie West (Lala Lala)

Faye Webster’s second full-length 2019 album Atlanta Millionaires Club is a case-study in duality. The instrumentation (a heart-rending mix of pedal-steel, guitars and strings) recalls the country-folk of her musical upbringing but listen deeper and you’ll discover a soulful undertone to her vocal delivery, a spare groove laid down by her rhythm section; a subtle and elegant genre-bending which just happens to make her one of the most compelling young songwriters in music today.
The near-whisper of Webster&#8217;s voice feels like the embodiment of the maxim &#8220;speak softly and they’ll listen harder.&#8221; Singles &#8220;Kingston,&#8221; &#8220;Right Side Of My Neck&#8221; and &#8220;Flowers&#8221; (a brilliant collaboration with Atlanta rapper and Awful Records label-boss Father) are highlights on an album which has landed on multiple end-of-year best-ofs.
Webster’s talent doesn’t lie solely in music, her collection of portraits documenting the Atlanta hip hop scene are near-iconic and have made her a much in-demand photographer. She is also the proud owner of a line of signature yoyos,  a hobby-turned obsession she picked up on the road after a new drummer turned out to have a side-hustle as a yoyo professional.

Chris Simpson is the singer-guitarist of Mineral and a solo performer under the name Mountain Time (formerly Zookeeper). After a four-year run and two albums, Mineral broke up in 1997, with Chris moving onto the Gloria Record. In 2014, Mineral reunited for a tour and has since hit the road again, in addition to releasing a retrospective book compiled by writer Mischa Pearlman called <a href="https://mineralofficial.bandcamp.com/album/one-day-when-we-are-young-mineral-at-25">One Day When We Are Young: Mineral At 25</a>. It includes a 10” of the group&#8217;s first new songs in 20 years.
