Pisie Hochheim is an editor and filmmaker who works on documentary and feature projects. She most recently edited Ry Russo-Young’s HBO documentary series <a href="https://www.hbo.com/nuclear-family" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nuclear Family</a>, and also co-edited Brandon Colvin’s feature A Dim Valley. She and her husband and filmmaking partner, Tony Oswald, directed the Vimeo Staff Pick short film, Handheld. They are currently developing a feature film called Blind Hog.

Putting Together the Pieces of Nuclear Family

Shaina Feinberg (she/her) is an award-winning American filmmaker and writer. She spent her twenties making a stoner, punk sketch show called The Spew. She has been on This American Life, was a resident at Space on Ryder Farms (2018) and Twenty Summers (2021), a Reel Families for Change grantee (2022) and a recipient of the Reboot Studios grant (2023). Her film My Mom&#8217;s Eggplant Sauce (2022) played festivals around the world, including Hot Docs, Rotterdam International Film Festival and Palm Springs, won her a Best Director award and is featured on Short of the Week. Her short doc A Brief History of Hating My Face (2023), was commissioned by the New York Times. Her film Cleo From 8:20 to 2:35 premiered at the Aspen Film Festival (2024). Shaina is the author of three books, has written for The New Yorker, The Washington Post and Tablet and writes regularly for the New York Times. Her films and books have been written about in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Bust, Broadly, Logo, THEM, Indiewire and more. She is currently working on a film about Joan Darling, the first woman to be nominated for an Emmy in directing. She lives in Brooklyn with her partner and their two children.

9½ Weeks, Fatal Attraction and Me

Kurt Mattila is the director of the award-winning documentary, <a href="https://www.disneyplus.com/movies/stuntman/1Bx6pcT39Txy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stuntman</a>, which is executive produced by Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia. The gripping doc details the journey of famed stuntman Eddie Braun as he embarks on his quest to recreate the famous Snake River Canyon jump, originally attempted by daredevil Evel Knievel. Stuntman won the Audience Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival and is now streaming on Disney+. A graduate of RISD, Kurt got his start directing the famed precog sequences for Steven Spielberg&#8217;s Minority Report. He recently helmed a companion piece for the third chapter in the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy. Stuntman: A Ghost Story

Acclaimed writer, director and producer Tiller Russell creates character-led films that defy genre and display an incisive understanding of the criminal mind and the worlds that surround them. His four-part doc series, Night Stalker: The Hunt For a Serial Killer, premiered on Netflix in early 2021 to rave reviews. Shortly after, Lionsgate released Silk Road, the real-life thriller Tiller wrote and directed about dark web kingpin Ross Ulbrich, starring Nick Robinson, Jason Clarke, Paul Walter Hauser and Alexandra Shipp. Tiller’s previous documentary series, The Last Narc, details the infamous 1985 cartel murder of DEA agent ‘Kiki’ Camarena and is now streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime. He also directed the crime documentaries Operation Odessa, about the true story of a Russian mobster, a Miami playboy, and a Cuban spy who teamed up in the early ’90s to sell a Soviet submarine to the Cali Cartel, and The Seven Five,which delves into rampant police corruption in New York’s 75th precinct during the 1990s.

Tiller Russell Talks with Kevin Willmott on the Talkhouse Podcast

Actor-writer-producer Zibby Allen trained at the American Conservatory Theatre (A.C.T.) before studying with Steppenwolf West in Los Angeles. Allen can currently be seen starring in the third season of the hit Netflix show Virgin River as Brie Sheridan. Allen’s previous credits include recurring roles on Grey’s Anatomy, Nancy Drew, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and The Exorcist and guest spots on The Flash, The Twilight Zone, Bates Motel and The Good Doctor. Allen is a singer-songwriter, and one half of a musical duo Socks and Chimes. Their first album, I Love You Overall was released in 2011 and they are currently in production on their second album. Additionally, Allen is developing a podcast-for-television project with Marianna Palka (Glow) and Alyshia Ochse (True Detective). Brian Andrew Mendoza’s feature film directorial debut, Sweet Girl, starring Jason Momoa, is now streaming on Netflix. Brian has spent the past 10-plus years building a production company with his partner, Jason Momoa. They’ve produced three feature films (Road to Paloma, Braven and Sweet Girl) and collaborated on commercials with such iconic brands as Carhartt, Harley-Davidson, and recently Ball. In 2016, Brian released his commercial directorial debut Canvas of My Life. In addition, he executive produced the third season of Frontier. Brian and Jason are executive producing their first unscripted series, On the Roam, with Discovery +.

Stacy Rukeyser is an award-winning creator, showrunner and executive producer whose new show is the Netflix hit Sex/Life, about a suburban mother who takes a fantasy-charged trip down memory lane. Previously, Stacy was the showrunner and executive producer of the critically acclaimed, award-winning drama UnREAL, about the inner workings of a reality TV show. Her other writing credits include the Golden Globe Award-winning and Emmy® Award-nominated series Without a Trace, as well as Crash, One Tree Hill, October Road, Standoff, Greek and The Lying Game. A cum laude graduate of Princeton University, she resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two sons.

William Horberg executive produced The Queen’s Gambit and is currently an Emmy nominee for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for penning the lyrics for the show’s original song, “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQ3VSFStd6w" target="_blank" rel="noopener">I Can’t Remember Love</a>”. He is the founder of Wonderful Films, an independent film and television production company, and recently produced the noir thriller The Burnt Orange Heresy and Flag Day, starring and directed by Sean Penn. Previously, Horberg was the President of Production at Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, producing Paul Greengrass’ United 93 and executive-producing such films as Billy Ray’s Breach, Kasi Lemmons’ Talk to Me, Craig Gillespie’s Lars and the Real Girl and Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York. Horberg was also an executive producer on Milk, starring Sean Penn and directed by Gus Van Sant and the producer of The Kite Runner, based on the best-selling novel by Khaled Hosseini. Prior to forming Wonderful, he was partnered for 12 years with Academy Award-winning filmmakers Sydney Pollack and Anthony Minghella in their film and television production company, Mirage Enterprises, where he produced such films as Minghella’s Cold Mountain, and The Talented Mr. Ripley, Phillip Noyce’s The Quiet American, Tom Tykwer’s Heaven, Peter Howitt’s Sliding Doors and Steven Zaillian’s Searching for Bobby Fischer. Horberg was formerly a Senior Vice President of Production at Paramount Pictures. He is the Chair Emeritus of the Producers Guild of America, East.

Andre Gaines is a director, producer and financier based in Los Angeles. Through his company Cinemation Studios, Andre has produced or financed the HBO series The Lady and the Dale with Mark and Jay Duplass, Spike Lee’s Da Sweet Blood of Jesus, the SXSW winning documentary Bill Nye: Science Guy for PBS’s POV and Netflix, the remake of Stephen King’s Children of the Corn, and the award-winning animated feature The Immortal Warrior starring Rodrigo Santoro for Amazon. He made his feature film debut at the Tribeca Film Festival 2021 with the highly anticipated film <a href="https://www.sho.com/titles/3503692/the-one-and-only-dick-gregory" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The One and Only Dick Gregory</a>, about the legendary comedian and activist,, which premiered on Showtime July 4, 2021. Andre and his wife Lauren are the parents of two young boys, Julian and Wesley. Jeffrey Paul King&rsquo;s writing career began at the age of 20, when his first play was picked up for a run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He relocated to Los Angeles soon thereafter, and was accepted into UCLA&rsquo;s prestigious MFA Screenwriting Program. Upon graduating, he was hired on CBS&#8217; Sherlock Holmes adaptation, Elementary, where he served as a writer/producer for all seven seasons of the show. Most recently, he created The Republic of Sarah for CBS Studios and the CW, and now serves as its showrunner. In his spare time, he&#8217;s been a professional opera singer, a published cartographer, a roller derby mascot, and a sideline reporter for Major League Soccer.

The Redemptive Genius of Jackass

Named one of Variety’s Top 10 Documentary Filmmakers to Watch, Emmy-nominated filmmaker Derek Doneen made his feature documentary directing debut in 2018 with The Price of Free, about Nobel Peace Prize-winning Indian activist Kailash Satyarthi, which won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance. Doneen’s new project, Heist, a serialized anthology docuseries that tells real heist stories from the perspective of the people who pulled them off, debuts on Netflix on July 14. Previously, Doneen edited Kobe Bryant’s Muse and co-directed the opening segment for U2: iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE: Live in Paris, alongside his mentor Davis Guggenheim, who he met while creating ancillary content for Waiting for Superman. Doneen produced Shot in the Dark alongside Chance the Rapper and Dwyane Wade, and edited and produced the documentary What Haunts Us with Frank Marshall. Lou Taylor Pucci currently stars in Apple TV’s new series Physical as Tyler, a videographer with a background in porn who ends up directing protagonist Rose Byrne’s aerobics video. Pucci emerged as one of the most promising young actors of his generation with award-winning performance in Mike Mills&#8217; 2005 film Thumbsucker, and his other notable film credits include Rebecca Miller&#8217;s Personal Velocity (his first feature), the horror reboot Evil Dead, Beginners (re-teaming with Mike Mills) and Richard Linklater&#8217;s Fast Food Nation. On TV, he’s had memorable recurring roles on American Horror Story, You&#8217;re The Worst and as tortured hipster Benji in Netflix’s You. Pucci grew up in central New Jersey and had little interest in acting until his aunt bribed him to try out for community theater at age 10; Two years later, he appeared on Broadway as Friedrich in The Sound of Music.
