How I Found Abundance Moving from Indie Features to Episodic TV

Chrysta Bell, actress and longtime musical partner of David Lynch, released her sophomore album, <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/we-dissolve/id1233754480?ls=1&amp;app=itunes">We Dissolve</a>, in June 2017. She is currently appearing in Twin Peaks in the role of FBI Agent Tamara Preston, acting alongside Miguel Ferrer and David Lynch. Lynch, who wrote and produced Chrysta Bell’s 11-song debut, This Train (2011), as well as her acclaimed 2016 EP, Somewhere in the Nowhere, says that she “is not only a killer performer, she also has a great intuitive ability to catch a mood and find a melody that’s really spectacular,” and recalls, “The first time I saw her perform, I thought she was like an alien. The most beautiful alien ever.” Bell’s professional career as musician began after being signed by RCA Victor at the age of 18 as the lead vocalist for the popular Austin-based gypsy swing act 8 ½ Souvenirs. In her four-year tenure with the band, Chrysta Bell delighted audiences on many North American tours and shared the stage with legendary musicians such as Willie Nelson and Brian Setzer. David Lynch’s Muse on the Impact He Has Had on Her Life

Victoria Negri is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker and actor. Her directorial debut, <a href="http://goldstar-film.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gold Star</a>, which she also wrote and stars in, world premiered at the Buffalo International Film Festival in October 2016, where it won the Audience Award, was released theatrically in fall 2017, and is currently available through Amazon Prime. Negri is currently in development on her second feature as writer-director, Ultra.

Jeffrey Reddick shot to horror fame with the creation of the horror classic Final Destination, which spawned four sequels and has earned over $650 million dollars at the worldwide box office. Reddick has sold, or optioned, more than 25 projects for film and television and has produced more than 12. Jeffrey’s most recent film, Dead Awake, was released in May 2017. Other produced credits include Lionsgate’s thriller Tamara and the remake of George Romero’s classic Day of the Dead. Jeffrey is making the move into directing and is currently developing The Horror Show and a feature version of his 2014 short film Good Samaritan.

Josh Tickell is a Sundance award-winning film director and bestselling author. Andrew Cohn is an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and screenwriter living between Los Angeles and New York. His most recent film, <a href="http://nightschool.oscilloscope.net/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Night School</a>, premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival and is in being released theatrically by Oscilloscope Laboratories from June 9. He is the director of the documentary Kid Danny for ESPN Films’ “30 for 30” series and his first film, Medora, went on to win an Emmy for PBS’ “Independent Lens” series. His new film, Danny Brown: Live at the Majestic, will be released through Apple Music later this year.

Matthew Wilder wrote Paul Schrader&#8217;s Dog Eat Dog, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and just played at the Toronto International Film Festival. It opens in November. Looking Glass, a script co-written by Wilder, goes into production next month and stars Nicolas Cage, also the star of Dog Eat Dog. This fall Wilder will direct his second self-written feature, Morning Has Broken, starring Peter Bogdanovich and Lydia Hearst.

David Lynch’s Alternative Facts, or How Twin Peaks is the Only Response to Trumpian Surrealism

Brea Grant is a filmmaker/actress best known for her roles on Heroes, Dexter, and Friday Night Lights. Her second feature as writer-director, the horror thriller <a href="https://www.12hourshiftfilm.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">12 Hour Shift</a>, is out October 2 in theaters and on demand through Magnet Releasing. Her first feature, Best Friends Forever, an apocalyptic road trip movie, premiered at Slamdance in 2013. In 2017, she became a producer on the Emmy-nominated LGBTQ series EastSiders, and in 2018, she wrote and directed an episode of the show. One month after 12 Hour Shift wrapped in Arkansas, Brea starred in the film Lucky, which she also wrote. It is directed by Natasha Kermani (Imitation Girl) and was set to premiere at SXSW 2020 before it was cancelled due to COVID-19. Brea has directed many shorts, including the award-winning Feminist 
Campfire Stories and Megan, 26. She has also directed television for the CW and 
writes comic books. She continues to act and recently was in Jeremy Gardner’s After 
Midnight and just completed shooting Jill Sixx’s The Stylist opposite Najarra 
Townsend.

John Butler is the writer-director of Handsome Devil, starring Fionn O&#8217;Shea, Nicholas Galitzine and Andrew Scott, which is being released theatrically by Breaking Glass Pictures on June 2. He previously directed and co-wrote the 2014 film The Stag (aka The Bachelor Weekend), starring Andrew Scott, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival won Butler the DGA Director’s Finders Series, and Charity (2012), starring Brendan &amp; Domhnall Gleeson. Butler directed and co-wrote the IFTA award-winning sketch show Your Bad Self (2011) for RTE. In the same year, his debut novel The Tenderloin was published by Picador, and was short-listed at the Irish Book Awards. Butler&#8217;s writing has appeared in The Irish Times, The Dublin Review, The San Francisco Chronicle, and on NPR.

Zia Anger is a filmmaker and music video director. Her debut feature, <a href="https://mubi.com/en/us/films/my-first-film" target="_blank" rel="noopener">My First Film</a>, is streaming globally on MUBI from September 6. In 2018 she began touring a new solo performance that traces the last ten years of her lost and abandoned work, titled My First Film. The performance was named by The New Yorker as one of the “Sixty-two Films That Shaped the Art of Documentary Filmmaking.” Her most recent short, My Last Film, premiered at the 53rd New York Film Festival. She has made music videos for various independent artists, including Angel Olsen, Mitski, Julianna Barwick, Maggie Rogers, and Jenny Hval; the latter of whom she also tours with as a performer.
