Longtime collaborators Kristin Slipp and Cole Kamen-Green come together as a duo in mmeadows. The band’s distinct sound is informed by their deep musical backgrounds: Kristin is a current member of Dirty Projectors, while Cole has worked directly with Beyoncé on two albums, Beyoncé and Four, Lorde on Melodrama and Solar Power, as well as Laurie Anderson and Meshell Ndegeocello.

Los Angeles based art pop artist Deradoorian just released her cosmic and hypnotic second album on September 18, Find The Sun. Find The Sun is not the record Angel Deradoorian originally sat down to make. It’s a waypoint on a spiritual journey of acceptance, the result of years of lifting veils that obscured her innermost self, and coming to the realization that in order to find peace, she might need to cede a bit of control. The result is something that could only be found by the physical act of its construction.

The Way Forward: Angel Deradoorian

Blissfulness is at the core of Wiseacre, the strikingly purifying sophomore record from Eric Slick. Wiseacre is a location, literally. It’s the place he married the light in his life, Natalie Prass, and titling the record after it is an attempt at bottling the euphoria of his wedding day. The record isn’t just about the joy that comes from a loving existence blossoming out of a new relationship, it’s also about the hard work that it takes to get to that place. The majority of his time has been behind a drum set, spending the last decade rounding out the industrious outfit Dr. Dog, and as of late, touring as a newlywed alongside his wife.

Lamp Lit Prose Gets to the Point

Nat Baldwin&#8217;s seventh solo album In the Hollows comes out via Western Vinyl on April 29th. It&#8217;s the following up to 2011&#8217;s critically acclaimed, commercially flopped People Changes. Nat is also known to slap the bass for Dirty Projectors and has recorded with Grizzly Bear, Department of Eagles, Vampire Weekend and Deer Tick, among others. He spends most of his time reading books and watching basketball, and currently resides in Kittery, Maine.
