Nicholas Brennan is a documentary and commercial filmmaker working in London and New York City. He is the director of the feature documentary <a href="https://www.topic.com/los-ultimos-frikis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Los Últimos Frikis</a> (Topic, 2021) and the producer of Reflection: a walk with water (Tribeca Film Festival, 2021). He was a founding director at Courageous, CNN&#8217;s award-winning branded content studio, where he directed acclaimed series and commercials for many of the world&#8217;s biggest brands. His work has won top industry awards including Cannes Lions, One Show, Webby, and Edward R Murrow Awards. As a documentary filmmaker, Brennan has told stories in over two dozen countries and worked for major outlets including VICE, ABC News, and the New York Times. Raised on the coast of Maine, he was a Willard TC Johnson Fellow at NYU&#8217;s Tisch School of the Arts.

Chasing the Forbidden Truth

Tim Blake Nelson is a prolific actor, writer, director, and producer who has appeared in a wide variety of films such as Lincoln, Holes, The Incredible Hulk, Meet the Fockers, Minority Report, and O Brother Where Art Thou? He is currently starring in the Western <a href="https://shoutstudios.shoutfactory.com/old-henry/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Old Henry</a>, opposite Trace Adkins and Stephen Dorff. In 2018, Nelson starred as the title character in the Coen brothers’ The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and performed “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings,” which received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. Nelson also won a Grammy Award for his performance of “In the Jailhouse Now” on the O Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack album, which was awarded Album of the Year. Most recently, Nelson starred in Just Mercy, The Report, Angel Has Fallen, and HBO’s Watchmen, based on the iconic graphic novel by Alan Moore. In 2019, Nelson’s play Socrates premiered at the Public Theater in New York City. Other playwriting credits include The Grey Zone and Eye of God, both of which Nelson adapted and directed for the screen. Acclaimed writer, director and producer Tiller Russell creates character-led films that defy genre and display an incisive understanding of the criminal mind and the worlds that surround them. His four-part doc series, Night Stalker: The Hunt For a Serial Killer, premiered on Netflix in early 2021 to rave reviews. Shortly after, Lionsgate released Silk Road, the real-life thriller Tiller wrote and directed about dark web kingpin Ross Ulbrich, starring Nick Robinson, Jason Clarke, Paul Walter Hauser and Alexandra Shipp. Tiller’s previous documentary series, The Last Narc, details the infamous 1985 cartel murder of DEA agent ‘Kiki’ Camarena and is now streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime. He also directed the crime documentaries Operation Odessa, about the true story of a Russian mobster, a Miami playboy, and a Cuban spy who teamed up in the early ’90s to sell a Soviet submarine to the Cali Cartel, and The Seven Five,which delves into rampant police corruption in New York’s 75th precinct during the 1990s.

Paul Kowalski was born in the U.K. to nomadic Polish immigrants, and grew up on four continents. While studying literature and writing at Brown University, he published a collection of short stories and made his earliest films. He later received his MFA in directing at the AFI Conservatory. His debut feature, <a href="https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10365730/">Paper Tiger</a>, premiered at Austin Film Festival in 2020, winning the Audience Award and a Jury mention, and is now available on all digital platforms through Gravitas Ventures. His other films have won recognition from the ASC, Beijing Film Academy, CINE, Aesthetica, Raindance and Beverly Hills film festivals, among others. He is a BAFTA Newcomer and USC film directing professor – and was named by Austin Film Festival as one of “25 Screenwriters To Watch” in 2021. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Sorel Carradine.

Michael Mohan’s new film, the erotic thriller <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09CSFX3NP/?ref=DVM_US_DL_SL_GO_AST_21VOYR_mkw_sTXIQHLhA-dc_pcrid_544725152548" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Voyeurs</a>, starring Sydney Sweeney, Justice Smith, Ben Hardy and Natasha Liu Bordizzo, is out now on Amazon Prime Video. Mohan received critical acclaim for his short film Pink Grapefruit, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival and won the Grand Jury Award for Narrative Short at SXSW Film Festival. He co-created and executive produced the Netflix original series Everything Sucks!, which he also directed. This ’90s-set coming-of-age series, which also stars Sydney Sweeney, became an instant cult favorite, as many LGBTQ+ youth across the globe still use it as a tool to help them come out to their parents. Additionally, Michael wrote and directed the independent film Save the Date starring Lizzy Caplan, Alison Brie, and Martin Starr, which premiered in competition at Sundance and later released by IFC Films. Previously, Michael was the senior coordinator at the Sundance Writing and Directing Labs, under Michelle Satter. Films developed during his time there include Taika Waititi&#8217;s Boy, Cary Fukunaga&#8217;s Sin Nombre, and Dee Rees&#8217; Pariah.

James DeMonaco is the writer and director of the feature films The Purge, The Purge: Anarchy, The Purge: Election Year and Staten Island, as well as co-founder of the Man in a Tree production company. He also wrote the films The Negotiator and Assault on Precinct 13. He created and executive produced The Purge TV series, as well as the cable television miniseries The Kill Point, which starred John Leguizamo. He recently co-wrote the novel Feral with Brian Evenson, which was published by Random House, and his children’s novel The Curious Chronicles of Jack Bokimble and His Peculiar Penumbra was published by Inkshares Inc. in 2017. The latest film he wrote and directed, This is the Night, starring Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale and Frank Grillo, is now <a href="https://www.uphe.com/movies/this-is-the-night-2021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">available to stream</a>. He lives in Staten Island with his wife and daughter. He is an avid New York Yankees fan.

Amandla Stenberg is currently starring as Alana Beck in <a href="https://www.universalpictures.com/movies/dear-evan-hansen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dear Evan Hansen</a>, out now in theaters through Universal Pictures. Stenberg first gained recognition for her role as Rue in The Hunger Games and garnered international praise as the star of The Hate U Give, based on Angela Thomas’s New York Times bestseller, and is currently in production on A24’s slasher pic Bodies Bodies Bodies, alongside Maria Bakalova. Stenberg recently starred on the small screen alongside Andre Holland in Netflix’s limited series The Eddy, created by Damien Chazelle. In 2017, Stenberg starred in Everything, Everything, directed by Stella Meghi, for which Stenberg won the 2018 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture. Stenberg has been praised for her crusade towards improving society and sparking thoughtful conversation. She has shared personal essays on topics such as cultural appropriation, intersectional feminism, mindfulness, biracial identity, police brutality, systemic inequalities and beauty standards. Amber Tamblyn is an actress, writer, activist and filmmaker. She is the author of several volumes of poetry, including Dark Sparkler, the novel Any Man, and the memoir Era of Ignition: Coming of Age in a Time of Rage and Revolution. Her debut feature as writer-director, the 2016 Paint It Black, starring Alia Shawkat, Alfred Molina and Janet McTeer, is now available on VOD. Bill Morrison makes films that reframe long-forgotten moving images. His short film <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oW65ChIjur4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Incident </a> was nominated for Best Non-Fiction Short at the 2024 Academy Awards and his latest film, The Vanguard Tapes, will have its <a href="https://movingimage.org/event/zodiac-killer-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">North American premiere</a> as part of First Look 2025 at the Museum of the Moving Image, Saturday March 15 at 8:00pm. His films have premiered at the New York, Rotterdam, Sundance, and Venice film festivals. In 2014, Morrison had a mid career retrospective at MoMA. His found-footage opus Decasia (2002) was the first film of the 21st century to be selected to the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry. The Great Flood (2013), was recognized with the Smithsonian Ingenuity Award of 2014 for historical scholarship. Vincent D’Onofrio is currently appearing as Jelly Fallwell in the biopic <a href="https://www.searchlightpictures.com/films/theeyesoftammyfaye/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Eyes of Tammy Faye</a>, out now through Searchlight Pictures. He can currently be seen in EPIX’s new drama series The Godfather of Harlem starring opposite Forest Whitaker, and recently made his directorial debut with The Kid, starring Ethan Hawke, Dane DeHaan and Chris Pratt. D’Onofrio first gained attention for his haunting portrayal of an unstable Vietnam War recruit in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket; his other early film appearances include Mystic Pizza, JFK Oliver Stone’s and Robert Altman’s The Player. His recent major films include The Magnificent Seven and Jurassic World, and he played Kingpin in Netflix’s popular Marvel series Daredevil. Cristina Rosato can currently be seen opposite Josh Peck in the Disney+ action-comedy series Turner &amp; Hooch, inspired by the 1989 Tom Hanks film of the same name. She also recently starred in the Crackle drama series Art of More opposite Dennis Quaid, and her other TV credits include The Good Doctor, A Million Little Things, City on a Hill and Party of Five. Rosato recently wrapped the tango-themed Canadian-Argentinian indie drama Ariel, and her past film credits include the rom-com Little Italy, opposite Emma Roberts, Darren Aronofsky’s Mother! with Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, and Bad Santa 2 with Billy Bob Thornton. Born and raised in Montréal, Québec, in an Italian-Canadian family, Rosato studied at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and was mentored by the late acting coach Jacqueline McClintock.
