Elaine McMillion Sheldon is a Peabody award-winning documentary filmmaker, visual journalist and media artist who brings classic expertise to intimate and character-driven storytelling experiences. In 2013, she released Hollow, an interactive documentary that examines the future of rural America through the eyes and voices of Appalachians, which received a 2013 Peabody, 2014 Emmy nomination and 3rd Prize in the World Press Photo Multimedia Awards. She is also the co-creator of She Does, a bi-weekly audio documentary series that documents creative women’s journeys. Her directorial debut, the feature documentary After Tiller, premiered at Sundance 2013, was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary, and will broadcast on PBS&#8217;s POV series on September 1. She is currently working on two new documentaries.

Carrie Brownstein Talks with Fred Armisen for The Talkhouse Film Podcast

Born and raised in New York City, Jonathan Levine has been making films since the age of 12. A graduate of Brown University&#8217;s Art/Semiotics program and the AFI Conservatory, he made his directorial debut in 2006 with All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, following it up two years later with The Wackness, starring Josh Peck and Ben Kingsley, which won the Audience Award at Sundance and an Independent Spirit Award nod for Best First Screenplay. Levine has made two films with Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Rogen, 50/50 (2011) and The Night Before (2015), and in 2013 wrote and directed the hit adaptation of Isaac Marion&#8217;s YA bestseller Warm Bodies. He directed the pilot of the Showtime drama <a href="http://www.sho.com/im-dying-up-here" target="_blank">I&#8217;m Dying Up Here</a>, which debuts June 4, and the Amy Schumer-Goldie Hawn comedy <a href="http://www.foxmovies.com/movies/snatched" target="_blank">Snatched</a>, out May 12 through 20th Century Fox.

Terence Nance is an Artist, Musician, and Filmmaker born in Dallas, Texas in what was then referred to as the State-Thomas community. Nance wrote, directed, scored, and starred in his first feature film, <a href="http://ofherbeauty.com">An Oversimplification of Her Beauty,</a> which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and was released theatrically in 2013. In 2014, he was named a Guggenheim Fellow. In the summer of 2018, Terence’s Peabody award-winning television series Random Acts of Flyness debuted on HBO to great critical acclaim, and was renewed for a second season by the network. His latest release as a musician, Vortex+, came out in early 2025.

Doors Opening: Making Reality with David Bowie

Matthew Wilder wrote Paul Schrader&#8217;s Dog Eat Dog, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and just played at the Toronto International Film Festival. It opens in November. Looking Glass, a script co-written by Wilder, goes into production next month and stars Nicolas Cage, also the star of Dog Eat Dog. This fall Wilder will direct his second self-written feature, Morning Has Broken, starring Peter Bogdanovich and Lydia Hearst.

He’s been in films like Don’t Think Twice, The Other Guys, The Heat, Anchorman 2 and Ghostbusters. Chris is the author of three books. He’s had a number of pieces appear on This American Life. He also travels the country both with Beautiful/Anonymous and his stand-up comedy, performing to sold out crowds all over America and much of the rest of the English-speaking world.
