Taul Katz is a composer, sound designer, and multi-instrumentalist based in New York. Working across experimental film, contemporary music, and immersive media, their work focuses on building textured, emotionally resonant sonic worlds. They are known for blending classical composition with processed sound design — merging acoustic instrumentation, analog synths, and archival material to explore themes of memory, identity, and transformation.
In addition to scoring, Taul works in installation and sound research, and was a 2025 Reel Change Grantee. Their practice often engages with queer archives, collective memory, and spatial storytelling, using sound as a medium for connection, grief, and radical presence.
