Talkhouse

Kirsten Johnson is a cinematographer and director. Her directorial feature debut, Cameraperson, premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, won numerous awards and was released theatrically by Janus Films to great acclaim. Her short film The Above premiered at 2015 New York Film Festival in the The Intercept’s Field of Vision launch. Her most recent camerawork appears in Oscar-winning Citizenfour and Very Semi-Serious. Revisited: Kirsten Johnson (Cameraperson) Talks with Agnès Varda for the Talkhouse Podcast

Reinaldo Marcus Green is a thesis student at NYU&#8217;s Tisch School of the Arts. His films have screened at many film festivals around the world including Festival de Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca, Telluride, and LAFF, and have garnered distribution and been televised by HBO and Condé Nast. While at NYU, he has worked as an assistant to directors Kasi Lemmons and Todd Solondz and received the 2014 Honorarium Award from the prestigious Princess Grace Foundation.

Reinaldo Marcus Green

Eliza Hittman is an award-winning filmmaker, born and based in New York City. Her critically acclaimed debut feature film, It Felt Like Love,&nbsp;premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013 and was released in 2014 by Variance Films.&nbsp;She received an MFA from CalArts, School of Film / Video (2010) and&nbsp;teaches graduate level film directing at Columbia University, School of the Arts.

Eliza Hittman

From short experimental videos (Third Known Nest) to installations and live performances of music and film (My Silent One) to feature-length narratives (Swoon, Savage Grace), Tom Kalin’s award-winning work has been screened throughout the world. A producer of the films I Shot Andy Warhol and Go Fish, he was also a member of the AIDS activist collective Gran Fury. He is a Columbia University Professor in film, teaching directing.

Kirk was the senior producer of Frontline from the series’ inception in 1983 until the fall of 1987, when he created his own production company, the Kirk Documentary Group. Kirk is the winner of every major award in journalism, including four Peabody Awards, three duPont-Columbia Awards, two George Polk Awards, 15 Emmy Awards, and 11 Writers Guild of America Awards. Three-time Emmy nominated writer, director, producer, and standup comedian Neal Brennan’s new hour special, 3 Mics, is now on Netflix, having previously enjoyed a successful off-Broadway run in NYC with superstar musician John Legend serving as producer. Brennan is also currently a writer and Creative Consultant on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Brennan co-created Comedy Central’s legendary Chappelle’s Show, for which he received three Emmy nominations; one for directing, one for writing, and one for producing. Together, Brennan and Dave Chappelle wrote and produced virtually every sketch on the show themselves, and also together also co-wrote the movie Half-Baked. Brennan directed the 2009 comedy The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard, as well as episodes of such TV shows as New Girl, Inside Amy Schumer and The Mindy Project. (Picture by Tyler Ross.)

Her focus is on creating compelling portraits and is obsessed with telling other people’s stories. Her work is known for its innovative approach to engaging with audiences in meaningful ways. Her documentaries includes Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, Seahorse, Orion: The Man Who Would Be King, The Great Hip Hop Hoax, Sound It Out, Goth Cruise and Teenland. Morgan Spurlock is an award-winning and Academy Award-nominated writer, director and producer and president and founder of full-service New York-based production studio Warrior Poets. His first film, the multi-award-winning Super Size Me, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2004 garnered a Academy Award nomination for Best Feature Documentary. Since then he has directed, produced and distributed numerous film, television and digital projects, including the critically acclaimed CNN television series Morgan Spurlock Inside Man, Showtime’s 7 Deadly Sins, the FX series 30 Days and the films Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?, the Emmy- and WGA-nominated The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special: In 3-D!
