Alex H. Fischer and Eleanor Wilson are the writer-directors of the sci-fi comedy<a href="https://bleeckerstreetmedia.com/save-yourselves" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Save Yourselves!</a>, premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and is out now through Bleecker Street. Alex’s previous film, Snowy Bing Bongs Across the North Star Combat Zone, a mid-length dance comedy space odyssey (a movie), co-directed with Rachel Wolther, premiered at BAMCinemafest in 2017. Alex was named in Filmmaker magazine&#8217;s “25 New Faces of Independent Film” along with Wolther, and their screenplay Nobody Nothing Nowhere was selected for the 2018 Sundance Screenwriters Lab, the IFP Project Forum and the 2018 Black List. Eleanor is a writer-director-producer from Adelaide, Australia, whose award-winning short films have played at festivals throughout the world. Her first, Possum, won best short film at the inaugural Nitehawk Shorts Fest, Everything All At Once, starring J. Smith-Cameron, premiered on Sundance.TV, and her latest, Low Road, which premiered at MoMA, was written as part of the Write By the Sea residency and is a recipient of the Future of Film is Female Grant.

Just For a Minute, Let’s Talk About Yahoo Serious

Known for directing and executive producing Adult Swim’s groundbreaking late-night comedy The Eric Andre Show, Kitao Sakurai began his eclectic career as a child actor in Cleveland, Ohio. As a teenager, Kitao dropped out of school, moved to New York and entered the world of opera and experimental theater, collaborating with renowned director Doug Fitch on productions at the Stockholm Royal Philharmonic, Lincoln Center and elsewhere. Kitao then shifted his focus to cinematography, lensing numerous rap videos and indie features such as Ry Russo-Young’s You Won’t Miss Me. In 2010, Kitao wrote and directed the internationally celebrated feature Aardvark and shortly thereafter began his collaboration with comedian Eric Andre. His latest film, the award-winning short <a href="https://www.tbs.com/clips/the-passage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Passage</a>, written by and starring Philip Burgers, is now online.

How We Made The Passage

Shannon Plumb has shot over 200 short films, which have been exhibited in museums, galleries, and on international screens. She started by shooting herself as various characters, acting out three-minute situations using humor and silence as her vehicles for storytelling. In 2013, her first feature film, Towheads, premiered at MoMA as part of New Directors / New Films; it is now streaming on the <a href="https://www.criterionchannel.com/towheads" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Criterion Channel</a>. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, director Derek Cianfrance, and their two sons.
