Ricky Staub is a writer-director who founded Neighborhood Film Co., a production company that offers paid apprenticeships and career development to men coming out of incarceration. His first feature film, Concrete Cowboy, starring Idris Elba, Caleb McLaughlin, and Jharrel Jerome premiered in fall 2020 at Telluride and the Toronto International Film Festival and was picked up by Netflix, which released the film on April 2, 2021. He received critical acclaim for his short film, The Cage, a drama that tells the story of a young basketball player growing up in North Philly, overcoming the forces of violence and poverty that surround him. The film won the Grand Prize for Best Narrative Short at the Heartland Film Festival, which qualified it for Academy Award consideration. He is repped at WME &amp; Range Media Partners.
