Park Chan-wook’s latest film, the dark comedic thriller <a href="https://www.neonrated.com/film/no-other-choice" target="_blank" rel="noopener">No Other Choice</a>, hits theaters on Christmas Day. A South Korean film director, screenwriter and producer who is among the most acclaimed auteurs in the world, he is perhaps best known for his “Vengeance Trilogy,” consisting of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. His other acclaimed films include the vampire drama Thirst (2009); Stoker (2013), his Hollywood debut; the psychological thriller The Handmaiden (2016); and the Hitchcockian Decision To Leave (2022), for which he won Best Director at Cannes. He also directed and executive produced the BAFTA-winning series The Little Drummer Girl (2018), and was the co-showrunner of The Sympathizer (2024), an HBO Series starring Robert Downey Jr., based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name.

Bi Gan’s latest film, <a href="https://www.janusfilms.com/films/2293" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Resurrection</a>, premiered in competition at Cannes, where it won the Prix Spécial, and is in theaters now through Janus Films. Born in June 1989 in Kaili, China, Bi Gan made his feature debut with Kaili Blues (2015), which was selected in 70 festivals, and received the Best Emerging Filmmaker Award at the Locarno Festival and the prestigious “Best New Director Award” at the Golden Horse Awards. In 2018, his second feature film, Long Day&#8217;s Journey Into Night, a monumental fresco in 3D, premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes Film Festival to rave reviews. Bi Gan directed an ambitious short film in 2022 called A Short Story, told through the eyes of a cat.
