Greta Schiller launched her filmmaking career with Before Stonewall (1985), which won two Emmy Awards. In 2019, the film was re-released, ran in 65 cinemas, and was selected for the National Film Registry. Her other credits include the award-winning films Paris Was a Woman, International Sweethearts of Rhythm, Tiny &amp; Ruby: Hell Divin’ Women, Escape to Life, The Man Who Drove with Mandela, I Live at Ground Zero, No Dinosaurs in Heaven, The Marion Lake Story and Bones of Contention. Schiller holds a BFA in Film/Video and a Masters in Science Education from the City College of New York which awarded her the Townsend Harris Medal for Outstanding Contributions to her Field. Her newest film is The Land of Azaba (Kino Lorber 2020), which is premiering in the Vallodolid Film Festival this fall. She is founding director of <a href="http://www.jezebelproductions.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jezebel Productions</a>, a women’s production company since 1984.

New York City in the ’70s was a Wonderland

Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr.’s latest film as directors, Mean Girls, debvuted at the #1 film at the U.S. box office and is out now in theaters. Jayne and Perez are previously known for their work on the critically acclaimed FX shortform series Quarter Life Poetry, which Jayne wrote and starred in and Perez directed. The series originally premiered in 2019 at the Sundance Film Festival, where Jayne was named one of Indiewire’s “14 Breakout Stars of the Festival,” and was based on Jayne’s book Quarter Life Poetry: Poems for the Young, Broke &amp; Hangry, which has sold around the world. Perez is a veteran music video director who has worked with such artists as the Killers, the Lumineers, FINNEAS and Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, and received an MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best Director for his work on Justin Timberlake’s “Say Something” video. The Polar Bear and the Giraffe, or How We Collaborate

Phoebe Nir is the writer-director of the new film Eco Village, starring Sidney Flanigan, Alex Breaux and Lindsay Burdge, which will premiere at the <a href="https://iffr.com/en/iffr/2024/films/eco-village" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2024 International Film Festival Rotterdam</a> on February 1. She holds a BA from Brown University in Writing for Performance and an MA in Drama Therapy from New York University. Her work in musical theater has been showcased in New York City at Joe’s Pub, Feinstein’s 54 Below, LaMaMa Theater, and the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop. As a singer-songwriter, she released two critically acclaimed EPs –Side Hustle and Red Tape Nation – and opened for the Modern English and James Chance &amp; the Contortions at SXSW. Julia Marchese is a filmmaker, writer, actor, podcaster, film programmer, VHS Vixen &amp; film critic. She’s known for directing the award-winning feature documentary Out of Print, an acclaimed exploration of repertory cinema culture and film preservation. She also adapted Stephen King’s short story I Know What You Need into an award-winning short film. Julia co-hosts the podcasts Horror Movie Survival Guide, The Loser’s Club and JodoWOWsky, reviews a VHS from her rainbow wall every day on her social media channels and writes about cinema for Talkhouse. Cassius Michael Kim’s new documentary about 1MDB and Jho Low, Man on the Run, is now streaming on Netflix. Kim is a director, producer, and writer who helped create the CNN Original Series, The Wonder List with Bill Weir, directing and producing half of the show’s twenty documentary hours from locations as diverse as Vanuatu, Madagascar, and Egypt. Prior to joining CNN, Cassius worked at ABC News. He began his career at the independent film production company This is That. Most recently, Kim produced and filmed Stockton On My Mind, about Mayor Michael Tubbs Jr. and the city of Stockton, CA, which was nominated in the category of Outstanding Current Affairs Documentary for the 2021 News &amp; Documentary Emmy® Awards.

Anna Zlokovic is an award-winning writer-director based in Los Angeles. Her work has screened internationally at festivals including Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, Slamdance Film Festival, and Fantasia Film Festival. Anna was a fellow of Tribeca and Chanel&#8217;s Women&#8217;s Filmmaker Program: Through Her Lens. Anna&#8217;s debut feature film, <a href="https://www.hulu.com/movie/appendage-5dee6ffc-dfb6-425e-b3b2-d665241e99b4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Appendage</a>, had its World Premiere at SXSW 2023 and is now streaming on Hulu. Anna was named one of IndieWire&#8217;s 28 Rising Female Filmmakers to Watch in 2023.

Savannah Knoop is a New York City-based filmmaker, artist, and writer whose work travels between fiction and documentary, lived experience and imagined fantasy. They have performed and exhibited at venues such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum and Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia. They adapted their memoir Girl Boy Girl: How I Became JT Leroy (published with Seven Stories Press) into a feature-length film, co-written and directed by Justin Kelly, and starring Kristen Stewart, Laura Dern, Kelvin Harris Jr., Jim Sturgess, and Diane Kruger. J.T. Leroy was released in theaters in April 2019 by Universal Pictures Content Group, is currently available On Demand and Digital and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on June 4th.

Chase Joliet is an actor and filmmaker from Dallas, Texas, whose debut feature as writer-director, Grapefruit, in which he stars opposite Rosanna Arquette and Steph Barkley, is now on the festival circuit. He worked with legendary director Terrence Malick for a number of years on To the Wonder, Voyage of Time and Song to Song, after which he produced his first independent feature film, Krisha, which won SXSW Grand Jury award and audience award before playing at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016. Chase won the John Cassavetes Award at the 2016 Indie Spirit awards and went on to help develop Trey Edward Shults’ second feature, It Comes at Night. Chase’s short film directorial debut, the comedic short Everything Mattress, won multiple audience awards and is currently being sold in European Territories.

Cedric Cheung-Lau’s debut feature, the Nepal-set drama <a href="https://www.criterionchannel.com/videos/the-mountains-are-a-dream-that-call-to-me" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Mountains are a Dream That Call to Me</a>, is now streaming exclusively on the Criterion Channel. He is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and lighting director based in occupied Lenapehoking (New York City, USA). He spent nearly a decade developing The Mountains are a Dream that Call to Me, which had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2020. Prior to that, he directed a short, Topography of a Hotel, that premiered at the 2015 Slamdance Film Festival. His cinematography can be seen in the work of directors Wen Shipei, the brothers Arie and Chuko Esiri, Maggie Briggs and Federico Spiazzi whose works have shown at Cannes, Berlin, Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs, AFI Film Fest, and many others.

Paris Zarcilla is a British Filipino BIFA-nominated film and television director-writer who aims to create meaningful, profound and genre-bending stories. His debut feature, Raging Grace, won the Narrative Feature Jury Award and Thunderbird Rising Award for Best Debut at SXSW 2023. His award-winning short film Pommel has screened all over the world at leading festivals. In 2020, Paris wrote and directed the primetime TV drama The Century Egg (Starhub) produced by the Emmy-nominated studio Refinery Media. Zarcilla currently resides in London.
