Shannon Plumb has shot over 200 short films, which have been exhibited in museums, galleries, and on international screens. She started by shooting herself as various characters, acting out three-minute situations using humor and silence as her vehicles for storytelling. In 2013, her first feature film, Towheads, premiered at MoMA as part of New Directors / New Films; it is now streaming on the <a href="https://www.criterionchannel.com/towheads" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Criterion Channel</a>. You can see her short films at <a href="http://shannonplumb.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shannonplumb.com</a> and Towheads is available on Netflix and iTunes. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, director Derek Cianfrance, and their two sons.

The Man with the Brimmed Hat: Remembering Jonas Mekas

Scott Cummings is a Buffalo-born, New York-based filmmaker. In 2014, he was named one of Filmmaker magazine’s <a href="http://filmmakermagazine.com/people/scott-cummings/#.U8hqUIBdVu4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">25 New Faces of Independent Film</a>. He received his MFA in Film Directing at the California Institute of the Arts and currently makes a living as a commercial editor. His work has screened at MOMA, BAMcinemaFest, Visions du Reel, CPH:DOX, Chicago Underground Film Fest, the Centre Georges Pompidou and more. His film Buffalo Juggalos was awarded the Grand Jury Prize for Live Action Short at the 2014 AFI Fest and his debut feature, <a href="https://www.monumentreleasing.com/realm-of-satan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Realm of Satan</a>, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and is in theaters now, including a <a href="https://metrograph.com/film/?vista_film_id=9999004444" target="_blank" rel="noopener">special screening at Metrograph</a> in New York City on September 20.
