“There’s Always Something Personal, Always Something a Little Different”: Jerry Schatzberg in Conversation with Joshua Z Weinstein

Linas Phillips is a director, actor, teacher, and spiritual seeker. He is currently crowdfunding his latest feature, <a href="https://seedandspark.com/fund/taketwo#story" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Take Two</a>, on Seed&amp;Spark. In 2006, he walked 1,200 miles to meet Werner Herzog, documented in his first film, Walking to Werner. His other films include Bass Ackwards (which premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival) and Rainbow Time (2016). As an actor, Phillips has appeared in Twin Peaks, Eastbound &amp; Down, Togetherness, and Manson Family Vacation. As the &#8220;screenplay doula,&#8221; Phillips teaches screenwriting by applying techniques drawn from notable spiritual teachers.

Stephen Cone&nbsp;is a Chicago-based filmmaker whose films include&nbsp;Princess Cyd&nbsp;(BFI London Film Festival, BAMcinemaFest) and&nbsp;Henry Gamble&rsquo;s Birthday Party&nbsp;(BAMcinemaFest, Maryland Film Festival), both of which are currently streaming on Netflix, as well as the Outfest-winning,&nbsp;New York Times&nbsp;Critics Pick&nbsp;The Wise Kids, which can be found streaming on Hulu. Other films include&nbsp;Black Box&nbsp;(Devolver Digital),&nbsp;This Afternoon&nbsp;and&nbsp;In Memoriam&nbsp;(Vimeo).&nbsp;Stephen&nbsp;teaches in the Department of Radio / Television / Film at Northwestern University.

Matt Jones is an actor, writer, director and producer. He currently co-stars with Anna Faris and Allison Janney on the CBS sitcom Mom, and spent five seasons playing Badger on Breaking Bad. On the big screen, Jones  appeared in Kevin Smith’s Red State, the stoner comedy High Road, with Lizzy Caplan and Ed Helms, and Mojave, starring Mark Wahlberg and Garrett Hedlund. Jones directed, wrote and produced his first feature film, The Night Is Young, starring himself and Kevin Pollak, which recently finished production. He currently lives in L.A. with his wife and is the Chicago Bears’ biggest fan.
