WeTalk — Voice to Power: Films for Social Justice: Alexandria Bombach and Hayley Pappas

Ondi Timoner speaks with the director and producer behind the very powerful forthcoming documentary On Her Shoulders.

Sundance award-winning director Alexandria Bombach and her producer Hayley Pappas, who calls the shots at the cutting-edge Oscar-nominated production company RYOT films, speak about their award-winning documentary On Her Shoulders, the truly incredible story of Nadia Murad, a 23-year-old Yazidi survivor of genocide and ISIS sexual slavery who, despite losing everything and everyone, is determined to tell her story as many times as is needed to get help for her people. Murad’s eloquence and grace ends up opening the hearts and minds of the United Nations. You can find On Her Shoulders in theaters this fall.
