WeTalk — Anthems for Artists: Sasha Waters Freyer and Xan Aranda

The directors of Garry Winogrand: All Things are Photographable and Andrew Bird: Fever Year speak at SXSW 2018.

The process of making art about artists can be complicated, but also transcendent if done right! Sasha Waters Freyer made a wonderful film about photographer Garry Winogrand, and Xan Aranda told the story of musician Andrew Bird. They shared precious insights on the unique challenges and intricacies of documenting the lives of fellow creators and what is different about these films, because they are women with lenses trained on me. Xan also shared stories from the set of Room 104, the Duplass Bros series which she has executive produced to great success.
