Wes Tirey and Ashleigh Bryant Phillips Talk Animals, The South, and More — Via Postcard

Get to know the writers as they got to know each other this summer.

Wes Tirey is an Asheville, North Carolina-based musician and poet; Ashleigh Bryant Phillips is a fiction writer and the author of the short story collection Sleepovers, and a fellow North Carolinian. Wes released his album The Midwest Book of the Dead — along with a chapbook of prose poems and lyrics — last spring, so to celebrate, the two writers undertook a summer-long project: interviewing each other via postcard. You can read their correspondences here, and get to know them as they got to know each other.
