rubberband. is a directing duo comprised of Jason Filmore Sondock and Simon Davis, operating out of New York City. They met at NYU in 2011 and have been directing together under the moniker since the end of 2015. They’ve made a lot of stuff for a lot of people and brands and artists, and, sometimes, themselves. Their commitment to soulful, earnest filmmaking and forward thinking aesthetic design has led them into a physical approach to filmmaking, versus a completely intellectualized one.

Andrew Thomas Huang is a visual artist, writer and director who crafts hybrid fantasy worlds and mythical dreamscapes. Known for his Grammy nominated music videos of Björk, FKA twigs and Thom Yorke, Huang is also recognized as a writer and directer of narrative film. His work has been commissioned by and exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Sydney Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Inspired by his queer Chinese heritage, Huang’s work mines the unconscious realms to blend technology, mysticism, future folklore and queer spirituality.

Comprised of filmmakers Alex Lee and Kyle Wightman, BRTHR mashes up vibrant pop culture with an infectious, unique, energetic style, integrating cinematic moments with visual effects, 3D and distinctive editing. Already a formidable force with a prolific reel and growing body of work, BRTHR has directed acclaimed music videos for Travis Scott, the Weeknd, Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus and Charli XCX, among others. Their visual style and scope of filmmaking is further enhanced by their abilities off camera, with the majority of their work having been shot, edited, colored and animated by their own hands.

Emily Kai Bock is a Canadian filmmaker based in Los Angeles. She has written, directed and edited music videos for bands such as Arcade Fire, Grimes, Solange, Lorde and Grizzly Bear. Her video for Arcade Fire’s single “Afterlife” won the Prism Prize for Best Canadian Music Video and a UKMVA for Best International Alternative video. Her short documentary Spit Gold Under an Empire screened at Sundance 2013 and on Sundance TV. In 2017, her short film, A Funeral for Lightning, premiered at Toronto International Film Festival, where it was selected by TIFF as one of Canada’s Top 10 Short Films of the year. It went on to win the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Short Film at the LA Film Festival. She is currently completing another narrative short film and prepping her debut feature film.t

Ben Sinclair, a multi-hyphenate creative force behind High Maintenance, started releasing shorts on Vimeo, which turned into Vimeo’s first On Demand series. Since High Maintenance’s HBO run, Ben has directed, executive produced, and acted in series such as FXX’s Dave, Peacock’s Pokerface and The Resort, and Hulu’s upcoming Interior Chinatown.
