Alexander Canepa is president of Eight Hills Productions and the writer-director of the new feature film <a href="https://www.eighthillsproductions.com/mrsbooker" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mrs. Booker on 8th Avenue</a>, which he also edited and scored. Mrs Booker has played at a number of film festivals and received the Reel Life award at the Chattanooga Film Festival. He wrote, directed and produced his first short feature, Meringue, in 2020, which was accepted into the Los Angeles Shorts Film Festival.
Danielle Canepa is an entertainment marketing executive and the CEO of Eight Hills Productions. She launched her career at Lionsgate and worked on a wide variety of film releases, ranging from independent films to big-budget wide-theatrical releases. She founded Eight Hills Productions in 2020 with her brother, Alexander Canepa. Danielle graduated with Honors from USC, earning a degree that combined Communications from the Annenberg School with a focus on Consumer Behavior from the Marshall School of Business.

Ryan Lacen is an award-winning filmmaker whose secod feature, All the World is Sleeping, won Best Film at the HBO New York Latino Film Festival and is in theaters nationwide from March 17 through Gravitas Ventures. He studied under the famed directors Kevin Smith and Michel Gondry before going on to direct his own feature film, The Dust Storm. Made on a shoe-string budget, the film initially sold to Hulu in the United States and Flix Premiere in the UK, before moving to Amazon Prime. He’s since directed commercials and branded spots for companies like Disney, Fender and Amazon. He currently resides in Los Angeles, where he runs his production company <a href="http://www.normal.tv/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Normal TV</a>.

Scott Friend is a New York-based filmmaker whose first feature, <a href="https://1091.tv/to-the-moon" target="_blank" rel="noopener">To the Moon</a>, is currently available VOD from 1091 Pictures, after playing at such festivals as Nightstream Film Festival, American Film Festival, Panic Film Fest and Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. He was awarded the Director’s Award from the Polish Film Institute at AFF’s 2020 U.S. in Progress program. As an actor, he recently appeared in the Gotham Award-winning film Fourteen, directed by Dan Sallitt, and The Dark End of the Street, directed by Kevin Tran.

All in the Family: Brotherhood, Addiction and My First Feature

Sarah Sherman is a screenwriter and director whose first feature film, <a href="https://www.bluefoxentertainment.com/films/young-hearts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Young Hearts</a>, was executive produced by Mark Duplass and Jay Duplass and debuted at the 2020 Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, under the name Thunderbolt in Mine Eye. The film also enjoyed showings at Seattle International Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival and Portland International Film Festival and is now out through Blue Fox Entertaiment. Sarah has previously acted in a TV pilot, titled Two Dogs, which she wrote and created opposite It’s Alway’s Sunny in Philadelphia’s Glenn Howerton, and she is a frequent collaborator of her brother, the actor Zachary Ray Sherman.

Stephen Cone&nbsp;is a Chicago-based filmmaker whose films include&nbsp;Princess Cyd&nbsp;(BFI London Film Festival, BAMcinemaFest) and&nbsp;Henry Gamble&rsquo;s Birthday Party&nbsp;(BAMcinemaFest, Maryland Film Festival), both of which are currently streaming on Netflix, as well as the Outfest-winning,&nbsp;New York Times&nbsp;Critics Pick&nbsp;The Wise Kids, which can be found streaming on Hulu. The Mattson 2 are Jared and Jonathan Mattson, identical twins who have been collaborating almost literally from birth. They grew up in San Diego, CA, where in middle school they started playing music; decades later, they had earned Master’s degrees in Music from the University of California Irvine. They formed their psych-jazz group The Mattson 2 in 2003, and released their first album, Introducing the Mattson 2, in 2009. Subsequent releases include collabs with pro skaters Ray Barbee, Tommy Guerrero, Farmer Dave (of Kurt Vile), and Money Mark (of Beastie Boys). Since then, they’ve released an album with Chaz Bear — 2017’s Star Stuff, recorded under the name Chaz Bundick Meets The Mattson 2 and which peaked at #1 on the Billboard contemporary jazz charts — and reinterpreted Coltrane’s legendary A Love Supreme which Jazz Times said “manages to hold Coltrane’s revered album in the highest esteem while absolutely shredding it to pieces.” Paradise, their eighth record, marks the first time that the brothers have added vocals. The album is a masterful piece of psych-jazz, conceptually elegant and thrilling it its execution.
