Max Talisman’s first feature as writer-director-actor, Things Like This, which was inspired by classic rom-coms and his own experiences as a plus-sized queer man, is out now in theaters. The film also stars Joey Pollari, Jackie Cruz, Charlie Tahan, Cara Buono and Eric Roberts. Max began his career at the age of 12 in acclaimed regional theater in his hometown of Washington, D.C., before landing roles in the indie thriller Super Dark Times, opposite Jennifer Lopez in Marry Me, Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, NBC’s The Blacklist, and MAX’s dark comedy Search Party. After facing Hollywood’s narrow casting limitations as a plus sized actor, Max founded Malibu, Bro Productions to create inclusive stories and champion underrepresented, authentic characters.

Australian writer, director and actor Joy Hopwood’s latest film, the romantic comedy Rhapsody of Love, is out now through Quiver Distribution. She wrote the screenplay for The Casting Game and made her feature debut as writer-director with The Script of Life. She is currently in post-production on her third directorial feature, the rom-com musical Get a Life, Alright.

Changing the Narrative of How Asians are Represented on Screen

Jonah Feingold’s debut feature film, <a href="https://www.ifcfilms.com/films/dating-new-york" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dating &amp; New York</a>, starring Jaboukie Young-White and Francesca Reale, is out now in theaters and on demand through IFC Films. Feingold was born and raised in New York City, with a camera in his hands as soon as he could hold one, and When Harry Met Sally on repeat. He is a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, and has directed a variety of shorts including the viral fan-film hit Bangarang and a short for Facebook Watch called Maybe: Josh, produced by Sofia Vergara. He is the former host of the official Hinge Dating Podcast Dating Sucks, now titled Seeing Other People. How I Got Hook-ed on Movies

Born and raised in New York City, Jonathan Levine has been making films since the age of 12. A graduate of Brown University&#8217;s Art/Semiotics program and the AFI Conservatory, he made his directorial debut in 2006 with All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, following it up two years later with The Wackness, starring Josh Peck and Ben Kingsley, which won the Audience Award at Sundance and an Independent Spirit Award nod for Best First Screenplay. Levine has made two films with Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Rogen, 50/50 (2011) and The Night Before (2015), and in 2013 wrote and directed the hit adaptation of Isaac Marion&#8217;s YA bestseller Warm Bodies. He directed the pilot of the Showtime drama <a href="http://www.sho.com/im-dying-up-here" target="_blank">I&#8217;m Dying Up Here</a>, which debuts June 4, and the Amy Schumer-Goldie Hawn comedy <a href="http://www.foxmovies.com/movies/snatched" target="_blank">Snatched</a>, out May 12 through 20th Century Fox.
