Constantine Venetopoulos’ latest film is Draw With Me, a documentary short about a trans youth, Brendon Scholl, who uses their art as an important outlet while navigating life&#8217;s challenges. In addition to publishing two novels, Venetopoulos has directed films such as Man in the Attic, his feature debut which stars Emma Hepburn Ferrer and American Ballet Theatre prima ballerina Luciana Paris, and A Stone Appears, a short film starring Bill Skarsgård. He is also the founder of Kuntaur Film Festival, a children’s film festival in West Africa, and the creative director of The Lamin Koto Super-School Prototype, which partnered with French artist JR’s Inside Out project in 2020. Coming Out: My Journey From the “Normal” Path to Draw with Me and Beyond

Standup comedian Kelli Dunham has been seen on Showtime, the Discovery Channel, the Moth Mainstage, the Cinderblock Comedy Festival, the Risk podcast, PBS Stories from Stage, the Gotham Storytelling Festival, and nationwide at colleges, prides, fundraisers and even the occasional livestock auction. Kelli was nominated as a 2015 White House Champion of Change (not under the current administration) for her work as the co-founder and producer of Queer Memoir, NYC’s longest-running most super earnest LGBT storytelling event. Kelli is the author of seven hilarious nonfiction books about very not humorous subjects (include kids’ guides to puberty) and recently helped set the Guinness World Record for longest comedy show/multiple performers. New York Mayor Bill De Blasio once called Kelli a show-off. To her face. Kelli&#8217;s newest comedy album, <a href="https://www.kellidunham.com/not-the-gym-teacher/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Not the Gym Teacher</a>, is out now on all digital platforms.

How Eddie Izzard’s Dress to Kill Gave Me Hope as a Gender-Nonconforming Comic

Low Tide is the recording project of Eli Oberman and Courtney Robbins. Robbins and Oberman are current members of NY feminist punk band The Shondes (Rolling Stone, SPIN, BUST). The Alchemist, entirely self-produced, will be Oberman&#8217;s first solo record as a nonbinary artist, carefully constructed to relate the “holy balance” necessary to facilitate a meaningful and contented reality.
Low Tide take the arduous expanse of existence and condense it into a series of lovingly orchestrated and tenderly sung compositions. The Alchemist conspires to embrace the complexities of life, the fractious nature of existence, the elemental way humanity seems to simultaneously be disassembling and recreating, in an effort to simplify how we all manage them — an ostensibly herculean task. Oberman was met with the visage of The Alchemist, a genderless symbol of life’s precarious balancing act that — if balanced appropriately — can engender happiness and joy. Existing in the pastoral crevices that have birthed such mossy-hilled folk-classics as Van Morrison’s Veedon Fleece and, more recently, the trauma-folk of Big Thief and the haunting warmth of Antony and the Johnsons and PJ Harvey, the band’s first release is lucky enough to not only carry this oft-under recognized style, but to insinuate such a unique perspective as to make something anachronistic sound fresh again.
The Alchemist, implicitly baked in the ambiguity of gender, the detritus of our internal and external lives, and a sweeping milieu of gothic romanticism, is a stunning document of not only a band in full bloom, but also an encapsulation of the world we all live in, offering not just a document of life in America in 2019, but also the world’s introduction to what is sure to be an electrifying future for the band.

Kate Bornstein is an author and actor who has for over thirty years been writing groundbreaking books on the subject of nonbinary gender, including Gender Outlaw and My New Gender Workbook. Additionally, Kate has maintained a career in theater, making her Broadway debut in the summer of 2018, co-starring in the Second Stage Theater’s production of Young Jean Lee’s Straight White Men.

Meredith Danluck has exhibited at festivals and museum venues such as the Museum of Modern Art, Sundance, and the Venice Biennale. She has also produced multi-screen tour visuals for Jay- Z, Beyoncé and John Legend. Her ambitious four channel feature film, North of South, West of East, where four feature-length narrative films play simultaneously in perfect symphony, was commissioned by Ballroom Marfa and screened at Sundance 2013. Her latest feature, State Like Sleep, starring Katherine Waterston and Michael Shannon, was developed at the 2013 Sundance Writers and Directors Labs and premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival. The film is in select theaters and on digital from January 4 through The Orchard.

Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (b.1950) is an English singer-songwriter, musician, poet, performance artist and visual artist. P-Orridge first achieved notice as founder of the COUM Transmissions artistic collective, which operated in Britain from 1969 to 1975. P-Orridge fronted the pioneering industrial band Throbbing Gristle from 1975 to 1981 and the experimental band Psychic TV from 1981 to present. In 1996, P-Orridge and partner Jackie &#8220;Lady Jaye&#8221; Breyer P-Orridge embarked on the Pandrogyne Project. P-Orridge is currently performing within h/er spoken word project, Thee Majesty, and the most current incarnation of Psychic TV labeled PTV3. Collaborators include Aaron Dilloway, Merzbow, Tony Conrad, William S. Burroughs, Timothy Leary, Monte Cazazza, Hafler Trio, White Stains, Z&#8217;ev and countless others.

James Marsh is an English director best known for his 2008 film, Man on Wire, which won many awards including the Oscar for Best Documentary. His other notable non-fiction credits include Wisconsin Death Trip (1999) and Project Nim (2011). Marsh also directs fiction films, including The King (2005), starring Gael Garcia Bernal; Red Riding: 1980 (2009), the second part of the Red Riding trilogy; and Shadow Dancer (2012), with Clive Owen and Gillian Anderson.

For more than twenty-five years, Amy Ray has been renowned as one half of the Grammy-award winning folk duo Indigo Girls. She is also a community activist, and has had an indie label, Daemon Records, since 1989. With her debut solo album, Stag (2001), Ray turned in her acoustic for an electric and delivered a critically acclaimed album that showed her love of punk and rock. Since then, she has released two live records and four more solo studio albums: her rock/punk records, Prom, Didn’t It Feel Kinder, Lung of Love, and her country record, Goodnight Tender, her first foray into traditional country music. Her newest live recording is called The Tender Hour and was recorded at Seattle’s Triple Door. The record features her top-notch country band playing all the tunes from Goodnight Tender as well as a few songs from her earlier releases.
