Famke Janssen is currently starring as Betty Jonkers in the Netflix crime drama <a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/81654735" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Amsterdam Empire</a>. She is best known for her breakthrough role as the iconic James Bond villain Xenia in GoldenEye, portraying Jean Gray in the X-Men film franchise and playing the female lead opposite Liam Neeson in the Taken trilogy. Janssen’s other notable feature credits include Made, Hansel &amp; Gretel: Witch Hunters, Hide and Seek, Rounders, The Faculty and Redeeming Love. On the small screen, Janssen has played key roles in Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us, The Blacklist: Redemption and Hemlock Grove, and recurred Nip/Tuck and How to Get Away With Murder. Mark Pellington is a filmmaker, writer and artist based in Los Angeles. He is internationally recognized as one of the world’s premier music video directors and has also gained wide recognition for his film and television work. His best-known films include the controversial political thriller Arlington Road, starring Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins, cult favorite The Mothman Prophesies, starring Richard Gere, Laura Linney and Debra Messing, The Last Word, with Amanda Seyfried and Shirley MacLaine, and Nostalgia, starring Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Amber Tamblyn, Patton Oswalt, Catherine Keener, Ellen Burstyn and Bruce Dern. The Director&#8217;s Edit of his first film, <a href="https://goingalltheway.oscilloscope.net/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Going All the Way</a>, came out in fall 2022 and his latest feature, the cathartic dance film <a href="https://kinolorber.com/film/the-severing#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Severing</a>, is now in select theaters through Kino Lorber.

Cristina Rosato can currently be seen opposite Josh Peck in the Disney+ action-comedy series Turner &amp; Hooch, inspired by the 1989 Tom Hanks film of the same name. She also recently starred in the Crackle drama series Art of More opposite Dennis Quaid, and her other TV credits include The Good Doctor, A Million Little Things, City on a Hill and Party of Five. Rosato recently wrapped the tango-themed Canadian-Argentinian indie drama Ariel, and her past film credits include the rom-com Little Italy, opposite Emma Roberts, Darren Aronofsky’s Mother! with Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, and Bad Santa 2 with Billy Bob Thornton. Born and raised in Montréal, Québec, in an Italian-Canadian family, Rosato studied at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and was mentored by the late acting coach Jacqueline McClintock. My Dream Role and Tango in the Time of Corona

Grounded in a tightly knit friendship and an intuitive musical bond, Lightning Bug’s music, an enveloping mix of rapturous shoegaze, longing balladry, and ambient soundscapes, sits at the center point of a creative exchange among songwriter Audrey Kang, multi-instrumentalist Kevin Copeland, and producer Logan Miley. Despite a knack for sonic eclecticism, each Lightning Bug record holds a magnetic sense of cohesion. Lyrically, the songs document Audrey navigating a relationship with her own humanity, memories fraught with joy and pain, and the constant cycle of tension and release necessary in developing self-trust. Lightning Bug’s music is then the manifestation of dialogues: a musical dialogue amongst members of a sacred creative partnership and an internal one as Audrey plumbs the depths of her own foundation.
Last year’s October Song (released via Marbled Arm) marked Lightning Bug’s second full-length offering, the follow up to the largely anonymous release of their self-titled debut Floaters. Earning an 8.0 from Pitchfork and a spot on NME’s best debut albums of 2015 respectively, Lightning Bug have emerged as one of the musical underground’s most fertile sources for textured world-building and soaring catharsis. Lightning Bug have now announced Fat Possum as their new label home and are now recording the follow up to October Song with new members Vincent Puleo and Dane Hagen.

The Way We Get By: Lightning Bug’s Audrey Kang Found Pina Universally Moving

Cathy Yan is a filmmaker known for her distinct aesthetic, darkly humorous tone and love for subverting typical genre rules and telling unconventional stories. Her debut film, Dead Pigs, which she wrote and directed, won the Special Jury Prize for ensemble acting at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, among several other accolades. Her latest film is <a href="https://www.birdsofpreymovie.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn</a>, which is now in theaters through Warner Bros.; she is the first Asian woman to direct a superhero genre film. Next, she is slated to direct and produce a film adaptation of Sour Hearts, a collection of short stories by Jenny Zhang, which she will co-write with Zhang. Yan studied at Princeton, where she earned her BA, and NYU, where she received a dual MFA and MBA in film. Previously, she was a reporter for the Wall Street Journal in New York, Hong Kong and China, and brings her sharp, journalistic instincts to her filmmaking. We’re Not Purists: A Conversation with Daniel Avery and Jon Hopkins

Nicholas Krgovich is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist best known for his work with No Kids, Gigi, and P:ano.  He has been releasing records under various monikers since P:ano’s acclaimed chamber pop debut, WHEN IT’S DARK AND IT’S SUMMER (2002).  This led to his recordings with the girl group inspired Gigi, the icy displacement of the R&amp;B informed No Kids, and most recently the singular pop dreams released under his own name.  Even though the material is often wildly diverse, there is an unmistakable sense of Krgovich’s deep commitment to exploring the endless possibilities of pop, his discerning ear for sonic detail, and an ambition that willfully borders on the absurd.
With songs that owe as much to the Great American Songbook as to perennial favorites like Sade, Prefab Sprout, and The Blue Nile, Krgovich has been creating a rich musical universe comprised of intricate vocal melodies, lush orchestral arrangements, layers of analog synths, slinky guitars and tight rhythms of the human (and inhuman) variety.
He has toured extensively throughout North America, Europe and Asia with his various projects, and has collaborated with artists such as Mount Eerie, Deradoorian, Nite Jewel, and Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors.  In between recording and touring he has participated in a residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts, written a one-act musical for Vancouver’s Push Festival, contributed songs to myriad film and television productions, and taken his dog, Sally, on countless walks around the neighborhood.

Introducing: Nicholas Krgovich’s “Belief”

Lea Thompson has accomplished a 40-year career in the arts that encompasses film, television, and theatre. A native of Minnesota, Thompson began her career as a professional ballet dancer and performed in more than 45 ballets with the Minnesota Dance Theatre. She is best known for playing Michael J. Fox’s mom in Back to the Future I, II and III; as the title character in the syndicated series Caroline in the City, for which she won TV Guide and People’s Choice Awards; and as Kathryn Kennish in five seasons of the groundbreaking Peabody Award-winning series, Switched at Birth. Her other notable films include All the Right Moves, Red Dawn, Howard the Duck, and Some Kind of Wonderful, in which she was directed by her future husband, Howard Deutch. Thompson has been directing TV for more than a decade, and makes her feature directorial debut with The Year of Spectacular Men, which is released theatrically on June 15. Shamir is Shamir and remains Shamir through and through, no matter what the universe puts him through. You may know the singularly named artist (think—Madonna or Cher) from his 2015 debut hit record Rachet, beloved by NPR listeners and club kids alike. After quickly rising to underground fame with his Northtown EP in 2014, the DIY pop star made a sonic splash with Rachet’s lead single “On The Regular,” a poppy banger that had extensive commercial usage. But how to follow all that up? Shamir, who came from the dusty dunes of Las Vegas, to Brooklyn’s Silent Barn, to the Philly indie scene (and all over the world in between), wanted to go back to what had inspired him from the beginning. Outsider music, country &amp; punk. Raw and vulnerable tunes, stripped down to their emotional core. 2017’s Revelations explored a new avenue of guitar driven hooky indie rock and was widely critically praised in the US and overseas.
Shamir’s most recent releases, the brilliant Room 7” on Father/Daughter, and his self-released limited edition album, Resolution, are pinnacles in the catalog of the increasingly fascinating artist’s career. Room and its b-side Caballero celebrate Shamir’s love of country music, while Resolution is a deeply introspective look into the fabric of society and the artists’ own mind.  With these two releases he has refined his craft exponentially and done so in less than six months from the release of Revelations.
