Bio

Martin Phillipps & The Chills was a New Zealand band led by singer, songwriter and guitarist Martin Phillipps. Phillipps co-founded The Chills in 1980. Their fourth studio album, Sunburnt, was recorded in England during August to September 1995 with session musicians Dave Mattacks (of Fairport Convention) on drums and Dave Gregory (of XTC) on bass guitar, with keyboards played by producer Craig Leon. This was because two band members were refused entry into the UK. The album was issued in early 1996 under the name Martin Phillipps & The Chills. Read more on Last.fm.
