Don Mischer is a renowned producer whose visionary work has left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment with a career spanning six decades. As a producer/director, Mischer’s credits include: the Oscars; the Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial; the Kennedy Center Honors, the 100th anniversary of Carnegie Hall; Motown 25; the Super Bowl Halftime Shows (Michael Jackson, Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen); the Democratic National Convention; Opening Ceremonies of both the 1996 Summer Olympics and 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Mischer has been honored with 15 Emmy Awards, a record 10 Directors Guild of America Awards for Outstanding Directorial Achievement, two NAACP Image Awards, a Peabody Award for excellence in broadcasting, the 2012 Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television from the Producers Guild of America and the 2019 Directors Guild of America Lifetime Achievement Award, only the fourth person ever to receive this honor for their work in television.
